    • He was born March 30, 1979 in Orange, New Jersey
    • He Matriculated the Orange Public School System
    • Dr. Johnson’s educational pursuits include:

                     - Virginia Union University, graduating with a Bachelor of Arts in Religion;

                     - Shaw University School of Divinity, having earned a Master of Divinity;

                     - Lutheran Theological Southern Seminary, where he a Master of Sacred Theology in                                Pastoral Theologies and Practices;

                     - Studied for a semester at Gladstone’s Library (St. Denoils), Hawarden, Wales in the

                        United Kingdom;

                     - Drew University School of Theology in Madison, NJ, where he was conferred the Doctor                       of Ministry degree; and,

                     - North Carolina Agricultural & Technical State University College of Education, where he                         was conferred the Doctor of Philosophy degree in Leadership Studies in the summer

                        of 2020.

    • Dr. Johnson was licensed to preach on April 16, 1994 by Saint Paul Baptist Church of Elizabeth, NJ - celebrating 25 years of ministry. He was ordained in 1999 by the New Hope Association of northcentral New Jersey.
    • He is:

                     - A skilled organist and pianist;

                     - An active member of New Zion Missionary Baptist Church in Greensboro, NC;

                     - The former pastor of Providence Baptist Church, Rockingham and Phillips Chapel Baptist                    - The Author of Autonomous: A 21st Century Look at the African American Baptist Church;

                     - An active member of the Durham Alumni Chapter of Kappa Alpha Psi Fraternity.

                     - The pastor of the historic West Durham Baptist Church of Durham, NC;

                     - Associate Professor of Preaching and Worship Coordinator of Chapel the Thomas Boyd                      Chapel and at Shaw University Divinity School; and,

                     - The loving father of four amazing sons: LaMont Jr., Andre, Noah, and Gabriel.
