Stephen Ministry

STEPHEN MINISTRY provides support to men and women inside and outside the congregation who may be experiencing grief, separation, divorce, job loss, illness, loneliness, spiritual crisis, hospitalization, relocation and other life difficulties and challenges. The ministry is served by highly trained Stephen Ministers who receive rigorous and extensive training in the practice of spiritual, Christ-centered care.

The UMMBC Stephen Ministry also provides:

GRIEF SUPPORT: onsite support for families during funerals and memorial services. One-to-one care is also available.

DIVORCECARE: DivorceCare provides help and healing for those dealing with separation and divorce through a 13-week support group seminar.
CANDLELIGHT SERVICE OF REMEMBRANCE: An annual program held in November to honor and remember deceased members of UMMBC.

If you would like to become a Stephen Minister,  you or someone you know needs a Stephen Minister to journey with you through a difficult season of life,  or register for DivorceCare, contact one of the Stephen Leaders: Cornelious Flood or Bonnie Henderson.
