This is our 59th Anniversary, and we are giving $200.00 to the Hurricane Relief Fund.



The United Men will meet on Monday, September 30th at 6:30 in the Men’s Sunday School classroom on 3rd floor. We will finalize plans for Men’s Week and activities for 2019 and our Annual Retreat for 2020. We need your ideas and support.

This workshop is free to UMMBC members. Registration Fee for non-members: $25.00 Adults and $15.00 youth/young adults ages 7-20; includes sheet music/lyric sheets of workshop songs. Register online.

2020 Budget Requests Forms are now available at the Information Desk and church website. For the budget year 2020, your budget request forms should be submitted to the church office no later than Monday, October 7, 2019. If you have any questions about completing the budget form, please contact Rev. Martin or Mr. Warren Leggett.



The Girl Scouts have begun to meet for the 2019-2020 school year. They meet on the 1st and the 3rd Tuesday of the month in the Fellowship Hall at 6:30pm. Girls in grades K-12 are welcome to participate and adults are needed as well. Please contact Pamela Bradsher at for additional information.



It is time to order your offering envelopes for 2020. There is a sign-up sheet on the Information Desk if you would like to change from the weekly envelopes to the monthly envelopes. If you do not want to change you will receive the weekly envelopes by default.



Please join us nightly at 7:00 PM in the sanctuary for our Fall Revival; October 22nd through 24th. The Rev. Dr. Lance D. Watson, Senior Pastor of Saint Paul’s Baptist Church in Richmond, Virginia will be our revivalist.



Join the United Fellowship, Youth and Junior Ushers as they present Trunk or Treat on Thursday, October 31st, 2019 from 5:30 until 7:30 pm. Enjoy food, fellowship and good Christian fun! Members are asked to donate wrapped bite-sized candies until October 16th in designated boxes around the church. Members Interested in participating as a Trunk or Treater, call Nora Baker at (336) 529-2745 by October 4th. Trunk or Treaters must attend a mandatory organizational meeting on October 12th at 6:00pm.



The annual session of the General Baptist State Convention is being held in Wilmington, NC on October 27 - 30, 2019. On Tuesday, October 28th at 6:30pm Dr. J.D. Ballard will be the speaker for the Memorial Banquet honoring the legacy of Dr. Haywood T. Gray. He is the former executive secretary treasurer of the GBSC. Later that evening our own Rev. Dr. Alvin T. Armstead, Jr. will be the featured speaker at the late night worship service.

Some members have expressed interest in attending both of these events. An informational meeting has been planned for Sunday, September 29th immediately following the 11:00am service in the Chapel for those who may want to travel to Wilmington for these services.

WHEN: Saturday, October 12, 2019

TIME: Depart from UMMBC –Saturday, October 12th at 5:30am and return to UMMBC – Saturday, October 12th at 7:30pm. This is for youth (middle/high school) parents and members of UMMBC. We will travel via chartered bus.

Come and attend the fall open house at Virginia State University. Meet faculty, staff and students; tour the campus. Learn about academic programs and majors, admissions, financial aid, and college life at VSU. Lunch is provided on campus. Afterwards, we will visit Virginia Union University in Richmond for a drive thru tour of the campus.

Please sign-up and fill out permission forms located at the Information Desk after each Sunday morning worship service. The cost for non-members is $15.00 for youth and $20.00 for adults, based on available seats. The Deadline to sign up and pay is October 6.


Bible Bowl Champions

Last Sunday, September 22nd, UMMBC Youth Missionaries defeated Emmanuel Baptist Church and Friendship Baptist Church for the 2019 Forsyth County Youth Missionary Union Bible Bowl Competition. We are thankful to all parents and children who committed to studying and learning Bible verses. Thank you to our contestants, Drew Puryear, Jiyai Parreott, Kayla Snipes and our alternate Michael Snipes for an excellent job done and for representing our Church, UMMBC!!!



Volunteers are needed for the 8:00am and 11:00am worship services. Please contact Sigrid Hall 336-816-8955 to assist with this ministry.
