CHERRY STREET PRISON 

Those attending the Cherry Street Prison worship service on January 20th are asked to sign up. The sign-up sheet and DCI forms are located at the Information Desk. Please fill out the DCI form and place it in the envelope provided.

 

HBCU COLLEGE FESTIVAL 

Our middle and high school students will be traveling to the 17th Annual HBCU College Festival in Washington, DC; February 22-24, 2019. The festival is an annual event for students to learn about the opportunities offered by Historically Black Colleges and Universities (HBCUs). Students will be able to speak with representatives of approximately 80 HBCUs to understand what their institutions offer academically and socially. Some of these institutions will offer on-site admissions, waive application fees, and offer financial assistance. The festival has seminars on subjects related to applying to and attending college, including sources of financial assistance. Vendors and External Organizations (Fraternities, Sororities, and other Service Organizations) will be present at the festival. To attend students must be currently in 6th -12th grade.

The cost for UMMBC students will be $100 which includes lodging, transportation, and meals. Please sign-up promptly as space is limited. 

Registration packets and sign-up sheets are available online as well as at the Information Desk outside the Main Office. The registration deadline is Sunday, February 10, 2019.

2019 Offering Envelopes are now available. You may pick them up from the tables in the hallway outside the Main Office.

 

LEADERSHIP WORKSHOP 2019 

Registration will begin on January 13th and end on January 23rd. You may register online on at the Information Desk outside the Main Office. The Workshop Theme is “Reaffirming our Mission and Vision”. The conference will take place on January 26th from 8:30am until 1:30pm. 

 

ACTIVE ADULTS 

The Active Adult Ministry will meet on January 14th at 6:00pm in Room 316. Members are asked to attend and new members are welcome.

 

SENIOR MISSIONARIES 

The Senior Missionaries will meet Saturday, the 19th at 11 o'clock in room 316. 

 

GIRL SCOUT COOKIES 

Girl Scout cookies have arrived! The price is still $4/box and $5/box for Gluten Free. Please support the Girl Scouts at UMMBC! 

 

ENDOWMENT COMMITTEE

The Endowment Scholarship Committee will hold an information session on Sunday, January 13th after the 11:00 am service in the Fellowship Hall. We are asking parents and high school students to attend so that you will be prepared to apply for scholarships offered to graduating seniors of the UMMBC family. This session is informative and we encourage your participation.

 

NURSERY VOLUNTEERS NEEDED

Volunteers are needed for the 8:00am and 11:00am worship services. Please contact Sigrid Hall 336-816-8955 to assist with this ministry. 

 

AUDIO/VIDEO MINISTRY

The Audio/Video Ministry is asking all per-sons interested in becoming a member of the ministry to contact Brother Gary Koontz. Training will be provided. For additional information, please contact the church office via telephone at 336-761-1358 or via email.
